Segundo Nando Reis,  “mentir é pura vaidade de quem quer se esconder”. Não sei, eu sei o seguinte,  quando alguém me conta uma mentira, eu finjo que acredito, não só por respeitar o  Código de Boas Maneiras, mas também, em consideração ao outro.

Porém, acredito que falar a verdade é muito mais vantajoso, eis que mentir dá um trabalho danado, exige uma série de coisas,  e, em nome de uma mentira, se contam várias, por isso, Swift diz. “Aquele que conta uma mentira raramente percebe o fardo que toma sobre si; deve, com efeito, para contar uma mentira, inventar outras vinte”.

Às vezes, a pessoa repete tantas vezes a mentira, que passa a acreditar que é verdade, cria um personagem, mentir torna-se um hábito, uma patologia, mente-se nas coisas mais simples, a pessoa vira uma fraude,  Saulo Ramos diz. “A mentira é uma falsificação dolosa da alma”. Contudo, também, existem mentiras sinceras, estas sim me interessam.

 O homem é menos sincero quando fala por conta própria. Dê-lhe uma máscara e ele te dirá a verdade.
