Pandora trouxe o vaso com os males e o abriu. Era o presente dos deuses aos homens, um presente de bela e sedutora aparência, denominado “vaso da felicidade.” Então, dele saíram voando todos os males, seres vivos alados: a partir de então,  vagueiam em torno de nós e causam danos aos homens dia e noite.

Um único mal não tinha ainda escapado do vaso: então Pandora, seguindo a vontade de Zeus, fechou a tampa e ele ficou lá dentro.

O homem tem pra sempre agora o vaso da felicidade em casa e pensa que maravilhoso tesouro tem dentro dele; está a seu serviço e o toma nas mãos quando tem vontade, pois não sabe que esse vaso trazido por Pandora e o vaso dos males e o toma o mal  que ficou dentro com a maior das felicidades – é a esperança.

Zeus queria,  com efeito, que o homem, mesmo torturado por outros males, não rejeitasse contudo a vida, mas continua a se deixar torturar sempre de novo.

Para isso dá ao homem a esperança: na verdade, ela é o pior dos males, pois prolonga os tormentos dos homens.

A Fabula da Estrela Verde

Havia milhares de estrelinhas no céu.Estrelas de todas as cores:brancas, prateadas, verdes, douradas,vermelhas e azuis.

Um dia, elas procuraram a Deus e lhe disse: – Senhor, gostaríamos de viver na terra entre os Homens.– Assim será feito, respondeu o Senhor. Conservarei todas vocês pequeninas como são vistas e podem descer para a terra.

Conta-se que, naquela noite, houve uma linda chuva de estrelas. Algumas se aninham nas torres das igrejas, outras ficaram brincando de correr com os vaga-lumes nos campos; outras misturaram-se aos brinquedos das crianças e a Terra ficou maravilhosamente iluminada.

Porém, passado o tempo, as estrelas resolveram abandonar os homens e voltar para o céu, deixando a Terra escura e triste.

– Porque voltaram? Perguntou Deus, à medida que elas chegaram ao céu. – Senhor, não foi possível permanecer na terra. Lá existe muita miséria e violência, muita maldade, muita injustiça, muita fome e egoísmo… E o Senhor lhes disse: – Claro! O lugar de vocês é aqui no céu.

A Terra é o Lugar do transitório, daquilo que passa, daquele que cai, daquele que erra, daquele que morre, nada é perfeito. O céu é lugar da perfeição, do imutável, do eterno, onde nada perece.Depois que chega todas as estrelas e conferindo o número, Deus falou de novo:– Mas está faltando uma estrela. Perdeu-se no caminho?-Não Senhor, uma estrela resolveu ficar entre os homens. Ela descobriu que o lugar é exatamente onde existe a imperfeição, onde há limites, onde as coisas não vão bem, onde há luta e dor.
– Mas que estrela é esta? voltou Deus a perguntar.

– É a ESPERANÇA, Senhor, A ESTRELA VERDE. A única estrela dessa cor.

E quando olharam para a Terra, a estrela não estava só. A Terra estava novamente iluminada porque havia uma estrela verde no coração de cada pessoa. Porque o único sentimento é próprio da pessoa humana, próprio daquele que erra, daquilo que é perfeito, daquele que não sabe como será o futuro.
